Hot water that does not run out
A tankless water heater heats water as it moves through the unit, so there is no tank to empty and nothing to wait for while it refills. We size it to your house, install it with our own employees, and give you the price in writing before anything is ordered.

Why tankless?
Tankless water heaters are worth considering if you have a family that needs constant hot water, or if you find you are always running out yourself. Five reasons people make the change:
- You never run out of hot water
- There is no waiting for the water to heat up
- Tankless heaters take up less space than tank-style systems
- Tankless water heaters use less water
- Tankless water heaters last longer than their tank-style counterparts
What a tankless unit does differently
The unit manages its own performance to deliver hot water at a consistent temperature for what you are asking of it. It can be adjusted, and the system adjusts its power use to match.
The low-to-high settings control the energy used to heat the water. Inlet water temperature changes with the season, so the unit needs adjusting to avoid wasting energy.
Heating only the water you actually draw uses less energy and less water than keeping a full tank hot around the clock, and that shows up on the bill.
Not enough hot water from your conventional tank?
The most common problems water heaters experience:
- A sudden lack of hot water
- Not enough hot water
- Water that is cloudy or has a bad odour
If any of those sound familiar, a technician can tell you whether the existing tank is worth repairing or whether tankless is the better answer for your house. There is no obligation to go ahead.
Two other things worth knowing while we are in the mechanical room: a slab leak can cost thousands in water damage, and we offer slab leak repair. If you are thinking about the bathroom as well, our bathroom remodelling service works to your budget.
How does tankless work?
When a hot water faucet is switched on, cold water is sent through the pipes and routed through a heat exchanger. An electric element or a gas burner heats that water directly, and only for as long as there is a demand for it.
Nothing is stored and nothing is reheated. When the tap closes, the burner stops.
Benefits of a tankless water heater
Unlimited hot water in your home
Have you ever been caught out with no hot water, or run out part way through? Is it taking a long time to arrive? Those are the two complaints that bring most people to this page.
A tankless water heater supplies hot water for as long as water keeps running through it, so there is no tank to drain and refill. How much flow it can hold depends on the model and on how cold the incoming water is, which is why we size the unit to the house rather than to a brochure. That matters most in large families, condos and anywhere hot water is needed without a gap.
It can conserve more energy
Tankless water heaters heat only the water that is needed. Instead of keeping a full tank hot, a set amount of energy heats what you are about to use. You are not paying to reheat water you never draw.
Longer life span
How long a tankless water heater lasts depends on how hard you run it and whether it gets maintained. Calgary water is hard, so descaling is not optional here.
Kept in good order, a tankless unit generally outlasts a tank-style water heater. Ask for the manufacturer’s rated life and the warranty terms for the specific model before you buy, and we will put both in the written quote.
Less space than a traditional tank
If space is the main concern, tankless is the obvious choice. The unit is roughly the size of a suitcase and mounts on a wall, which frees the floor area a tank was using and opens up where it can be installed.

Downsides to tankless water heaters
Tankless is right for a lot of houses and wrong for some. Here is the honest side of it.
A tankless system usually is not able to provide multiple streams of hot water at the same time. If someone is in the shower while someone else is washing dishes, the temperature and flow may be different for both.
Electric tankless heaters place a high demand on a home’s electrical supply, and the service may need upgrading to carry the load.
Tankless water heaters also cost more to install than a tank water heater.
If you are not sure whether tankless is right for you, ask a plumber before you commit. That is what the in-home assessment is for, and it carries no obligation.

Tankless water heater questions
Why should I consider a tankless water heater?
It is worth considering if your household needs constant hot water or you keep running out. You do not wait for a tank to reheat, the unit takes up less space than a tank-style system, and it generally lasts longer.
How does a tankless water heater work?
When a hot water faucet is opened, cold water moves through the pipes into a heat exchanger. A gas burner or an electric element heats the water directly, and only while there is demand.
Does a tankless water heater save energy?
It heats only the water you draw instead of keeping a full storage tank hot. How much that saves depends on your household’s hot water use and the model installed, so we will not put a number on it here.
What are common conventional water heater problems?
A sudden lack of hot water, not enough hot water, cloudy water, and water with a bad odour.
Are there downsides to tankless water heaters?
Yes. A tankless unit can struggle when several hot water streams run at once, electric models may need an electrical upgrade, and installation costs more than a tank water heater. Ask a local plumber to look at your house before you decide.
Can a tankless water heater also heat the house?
Some units are set up for space heating as well as domestic hot water. Whether that suits your house depends on the heating system already in place, which is one of the things the in-home assessment looks at.
