What a CAPS designation means

If you are like most Canadians over 45, you want to keep living in a familiar home as you get older. According to CARP, older homeowners overwhelmingly prefer to age in place: to live in their home safely, independently and comfortably, whatever their age or ability.

The NAHB Remodelers of the National Association of Home Builders, with the NAHB Research Center, the NAHB 50+ Housing Council and AARP, developed the Certified Aging-in-Place Specialist (CAPS) program to train the people who plan those changes.

Carla, our co-owner, has held the CAPS designation since the mid-2000s. She is also a CAPS trainer, and she has trained our team.
