Why a warmer home matters

Comfort you feel — wellness you can't see

Protect your family

Cold takes a real toll in winter — especially on kids, seniors, and anyone with health concerns. A reliable furnace keeps everyone safer, warmer, and well-rested.

Cleaner indoor air

A modern high-efficiency furnace paired with quality filtration keeps allergens, dust and bacteria out of the air your family breathes — fewer irritants, healthier days.

Balanced humidity

Pairing your furnace with a whole-home humidifier combats the dry Calgary winter air that damages wood, drywall, and irritates airways — keeping your home comfortable at a lower thermostat setting.

Why a high-efficiency furnace in Calgary

Stay warm through every Calgary winter

Calgary winters are among the coldest in Canada, and an under-heated home is hard on everyone. The right high-efficiency furnace lets you set the warmth you want — so the whole family sleeps, rests, and feels better. Warm homes are calmer, healthier, more productive homes.

Increase your home's value

A professional furnace install is an investment you enjoy from day one — lower gas bills, consistent heat, and better resale appeal.

AFUE vs. BTU — what actually matters

They measure two different things: BTU output is capacity (how much heat your home needs), AFUE is efficiency (what it costs to run). The right approach: size the BTU output to your home's heat load first, then get the highest AFUE that fits your budget. A 96% AFUE furnace can cut your gas heating bill by 30–40% compared to a standard 60% unit. We calculate your full heat load during your assessment so you get the right furnace — not an over- or under-sized one.

Know the signs

Signs your furnace should be replaced

  • Short-cycling — it turns on and off too frequently without fully heating the home
  • 15 or more years old — efficiency and reliability drop sharply past this point
  • Rising gas bills despite normal usage — a sign of declining combustion efficiency
  • Uneven heat — some rooms are cold while others are fine
  • Yellow or orange burner flame instead of a steady blue one — possible CO risk
  • Frequent repairs adding up to more than half the cost of a new unit

Repair or replace?

Spend smart, not twice

Age: furnaces over 15 years old run far less efficiently — a new high-efficiency install often pays for itself within a few heating seasons through lower gas bills.

The 50% rule: if a repair costs half (or more) of a new furnace, you're better off replacing it. We'll give you the honest math.

Step 1 of 7
High-efficiency vs. standard

Why a 96% AFUE furnace pays for itself

An older 60–80% AFUE furnace wastes up to 40 cents of every gas dollar up the flue. A modern 96% AFUE two-stage or modulating furnace reclaims nearly all of that heat — cutting your gas bill by 30–40% per heating season. Over 15 years, the savings often exceed the cost of the upgrade. We'll show you the math for your home.

Frequently asked questions

What's an AFUE rating?
AFUE (Annual Fuel Utilization Efficiency) measures how much of the gas your furnace burns actually heats your home. A 96% AFUE furnace converts 96 cents of every dollar of gas into heat — modern high-efficiency units run 96–98% AFUE, cutting your gas bill dramatically compared to an older 60–80% unit.
What's the difference between single-stage, two-stage, and modulating furnaces?
Single-stage runs at 100% or off. Two-stage adds a lower cruise speed for mild days — quieter, more even heat, and lower bills. Modulating adjusts output continuously for the most consistent comfort and highest efficiency. We'll recommend the right tier for your home and budget.
What's the going rate for a new furnace in Calgary?
It depends on your home's size, efficiency tier, and install complexity — most Calgary homeowners land between $4,500 and $10,000 for a high-efficiency furnace. Our in-home assessment is free and gives you an exact, no-obligation price for your home.
Should I repair my furnace or replace it?
If it's over 15 years old, needs frequent repairs, or your gas bills keep rising, replacement is usually the smarter spend. After examining your system, we'll tell you honestly whether a repair or full replacement is more cost-effective.
How often should my furnace be serviced?
Once a year — ideally in early fall before the Calgary cold hits. Annual tune-ups extend the life of your furnace, keep it running safely and efficiently, and help you avoid costly mid-winter breakdowns.
What size of furnace does my house need?
Square footage, insulation, ceiling height, and how well-sealed your home is all factor in. During your assessment we calculate your full heat load so you get the right BTU output — not an over-sized unit that short-cycles or an under-sized one that runs forever.
Do you offer emergency furnace repair in Calgary?
Yes — 24/7 emergency repair across Calgary and surrounding areas. If your furnace fails in a Calgary winter, our technicians can restore your heat quickly, even after hours, weekends and holidays.
