What to Do Right Now
Shut Off the Water
Locate your main shut-off valve — typically in the basement utility room, crawlspace, or beside the water meter. Turn it clockwise until fully closed. This stops active flooding immediately. If you can’t find it, call us — we can walk you through it.
Turn Off the Water Heater
After shutting off the main supply, turn your water heater to its “pilot” or “vacation” setting. Running the heater without water supply can damage the tank or the element. If there’s standing water near the heater, don’t touch anything electrical — call us first.

Sudden loss of hot water — especially in winter — often indicates a failed water heater element, thermocouple, or tank failure. We diagnose and carry common repair parts and replacement units on emergency calls.
Active Water Leak
A leaking joint, failed supply line, or pinhole leak causing visible water damage. We locate the leak, make a watertight repair, and advise on any hidden damage that may require follow-up.
Blocked or Overflowing Toilet
A toilet that won’t clear with a plunger or is overflowing may indicate a blockage past the trap. We clear the obstruction and confirm the drain is fully open — no guessing.
Gas-Smell + Water Issue
If you smell gas alongside a plumbing issue, leave immediately and call 911 before calling us. Once the gas company clears the building, we handle the plumbing side of the repair.

Calling is always free — no after-hours surcharge to reach our dispatcher. Emergency dispatch rates apply for service outside standard business hours, and our dispatcher will confirm the rate before sending a plumber. No surprises on-site.
How fast can you get to my home in an emergency?
We aim for 60–90 minutes for true emergencies within Calgary — active flooding, sewage backup, complete loss of hot water in winter. Response time varies based on call volume and your location relative to dispatch. Our dispatcher will give you an honest ETA when you call.
What if I’m not sure it’s a real emergency?
Call anyway. A slow drip becomes a flood, and a minor backup becomes sewage in the basement. Our dispatcher will ask a few questions to assess urgency and tell you honestly whether you need emergency response or whether it can wait for a next-day appointment. There’s no charge to call and find out.
