How it Works

The InSinkErator® instant hot water system operates on a straightforward principle. Initially, it connects to the kitchen sink's cold water supply, which is linked to the hot water tank. The tank is installed beneath the sink and continuously maintains 2/3 gallons of water at nearly boiling temperatures. As you draw hot water from the faucet, it is replenished in the tank by cool water that is rapidly heated. A thermostat keeps track of the water temperature and regulates the heating element.

If an InSinkErator filtration system is integrated with the instant hot water dispenser, the cool water is filtered through the cartridge before entering the hot water tank or going to the drinking water side of the hot and cool models.

Instant hot water begins with the most efficient component of the entire system – the instant hot water tank. Every system in the Involve Series and Invite Series features the compact and effective InSinkErator instant hot water tank, designed to maintain near-boiling water at all times.

This stainless-steel lined tank connects to the instant hot water faucet without the need for tools and can be easily mounted to the inner cabinet or wall using just two screws. Its user-friendly temperature adjustment control on the front of the tank allows for easy customization of your hot water temperature.
