With my husband Mike working overseas, I was joined by our kids and their grandparents, ready to create beautiful memories. As I called everyone in for dinner, I let our dogs out for a quick moment of play. Josie, our other dog, bounded back to the house, but Cash, with his boundless energy and love for chasing birds, stayed outside. “He’s probably just distracted,” I reassured myself.
